A Small Church Wedding Elopement
I was so excited to be the Portland wedding photographer Jessi and David hired for their intimate elopement at Christ United Methodist Church.
Jessi and David technically meet online but when they think about when they met they remember their first date. Their first date was to the Oregon Zoo, what a great idea for a first date adventure. After the zoo, they went downtown for a bite of pizza. Only to head back into the west hills for a walk around Hoyt Arboretum. Before long the hours slipped away and their date turned into an all day thing.
Jessi is very close with her family, so including them when David proposed was a perfect move. He asked Christmas morning when they family was all together. The holidays are such a special time and a proposal is just icing on the cake.
Long before COVID made it a thing, Jessi and David had a small intimate elopement with close friends, then opted for a larger celebration the following year. Though their reasons were different the experience was a similar one.
I loved the nod to Star Wars during their ceremony, when they were presented a light saber with their wedding rings tied to it. Of course we had some photo fun with it later.
