I love touring wedding venues throughout Oregon and Washington! It's a great way for me to get antiquated with the venue before a wedding. Plus, I get to share these new, upcoming and unique wedding venues with all of you! Recently I exhibited in the Willamette Valley Wedding Show at The Salem Convention Center and I was super impressed by it. After the show I wanted to learn more, so I set up a tour with their sales and catering manager, Sarah.

Located in the heart of downtown Salem, The Salem Convention Center, offers more than 30,000 square feet of space for people to gather and celebrate. The venue is a host to weddings, social events, quinceaneras, meetings, multiple-day conventions, workshops and more.
The Salem Convention Center also cares about the planet. First they are LEED-EB Silver Certified and their interior is built with local recycled materials (all from within a 500 mile radius of Salem). Second, they have been as an EarthWISE business since 2008. To do so they had to meet criteria for recycling, waste reduction and prevention, environmentally preferable purchasing, energy efficiency and conservation, and water pollution prevention.

Photo Highlights:
I love the foyer, it has a modern industrial feel and let's in so much great light. Inside the Willamette is warm with cool light treatments. The outside of the building makes a great backdrop, as well as the surrounding downtown. Plus, the capital is a very short car ride away which is a great landmark for photos all year round, and even more amazing when the trees out front are in bloom.
Other Cool Features:
I love that this venue does so much of the work for you. From tables and linens, to food and decor. They will even help you plan a place to spend the wedding night and it's just next door at their hotel partner, The Grand Hotel (pictured below).
