Vine and Sparrow

Wedding Venue Open House

Open houses are a great opportunity to tour a venue and meet exceptional wedding and event vendors. As a preferred vendor for Vine & Sparrow, I was excited to photograph and have a booth at their open house earlier this year.

March 8, 2020 was their first annual Open House! While there attendees could tour the indoor and outdoor space, meet local wedding vendors, and really get the chance to envision their wedding or event.

Vine and Sparrow's experienced venue manager Jessica Love was on hand to assist couples with an questions. General things from how many people the venue holds to more creative requests around decor and lighting. If they don't include it, with Jessica's extensive planning experience she can refer you to the right people to make your wedding or event just what you imagine at Vine and Sparrow.

Of course, as I said, yours truly was there to talk to couples about their upcoming weddings. It's always so nice to get to speak with people in person. I think connecting with your photographer is important, so this gives you the chance to chat and get to know each other a little. I'm available for parties and corporate events as well.

Everyone was treated to some delicious bites from Divine Catering. If I said I didn't go back for seconds....or thirds on the bacon-wrapped dates I'd be lying. They were SO good. Besides the food being good, I thought they also put forward a beautiful presentation. I will be excited to see what they create for a special event.

As you entered the main room your sweet tooth might stop you for a dessert from The Hungry Hero, located right there in Sherwood, Oregon. I just love a good ginger snap cookie! And you can never go wrong with cupcakes, plus no plates or silverware needed.

You can't have a good event without music to set the mood, keep people moving, and feeling energized. A preferred vendor of mine, Kevin, the owner of NW Mobile DJ Service was on the scene to mix up some tunes for all of us.

Of course with the outbreak of COVID-19 open houses will be looking a little different these days. There will be added protections with masks and hand sanitizer, but with proper social distancing, those in-person venues tours and connections can still happen. And hey, if all else fails, and we find ourselves at home again for a while it is amazing what you can see and plan together via video conference. COVID can't stop love!
